VELVET INSANE is something so unusual as a glam rock trio from Östersund, Sweden. And this is something for those of you who are into the British glam rockers from the early 70s. But I guess that any fan of really good rock n roll will like this band.
I don't know their exact history, but they have been around for a few years already, and released a few albums. Their latest album, "Rock 'N' Roll Glitter Suit", will be released on July 16. And I really liked what I heard (review here), so I sent them a few questions. And guitarist Jesper Lindgren answered.
He gave me pretty short answers, so I decided to translate this interview to English for a change. The interview was done in July 2021.

How come you choose to play good old glam rock in 2021?
We are raised with just 70s glam rock, so it just feels obvious in every way.
And you have a new record out soon. What can you tell us about that? Is it any different from your previous records?
The album is 100% glam rock: boogie piano, razor sharp guitars, enormous choruses and strong songs.
We are incredibly proud over this album and that it got a strong 70s vein, but with a modern sound.
Yes, proud you should be. You have existed for a few years already, but I at least have not heard about you before. Do you choose to bet some more now, or did you just happen to end up on a better label?
We have always bet. To play in a rock band and make yourself a name takes time. You have to take it step by step, bit by bit.
The competition doesn't seems to be that big here in Sweden when it comes to glam rock, as far as I know, but maybe you have better control? What other bands are there today?
When it comes to Sweden there's not that many glam rock bands, at least not 70s bands. It's us and The ARK, but there's probably more.
There's The STRUTS, but they are more pop centered. Otherwise it's weak.
What do you think about the future then? Something you would like to add?
We hope that everybody like our album, and we hope that we see you on tour.
