Why did you form the band and why doom metal?
- DISTORTED REFLECTION was formed back in August 2022 when I left SORROWS PATH for musical reasons just before the recordings of the fifth album. I was the co-founder and guitarist for this band, one of most well known metal bands in Greece. Fortunately, I managed to cooperate with all the great musicians that I had in mind for my new band DISTORTED REFLECTION, the really experienced bassist Vangelis Yalamas and drummer Stelios Pavlou. I also have vocal duties for the very first time and we started to work and recorded our debut album in Fragile Studio. This was released on February 9 by German Iron Shield Records. Of course, I continued on the path of my beloved doom metal but even more heavy. This is a so deep, meaningful, heavy and eternal kind of music. Many feelings that can be together and I can totally express my cursed and damned personality and my unique beliefs.

How would you describe your sound and what inspires you?
- Modern yet traditional Epic Doom Metal with unique influences from traditional Greek music. Perhaps this is an appropriate label for the band's music, although we don't particularly like them.

You have released 1 album so far. What can you tell us about that?
- The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fragile Studio by our producer and bassist Vangelis Yalamas. All the artwork was done by the mighty Tomas Arfert (CANDLEMASS, KRUX). This is also featuring 3 important special guests. The awesome vocalist Nicholas Leptos who did the whole vocal work on the opening song, "Mr. Snake", and also two guitarists. The mighty Ross The Boss that performed a solo on "Cassandra" and the legendary Greek rock guitarist Giannis Drolapas who offered some great leads on "The Eternal Gate". These were also the 3 official lyric videos from the album.

It seems like you won't be playing live or do any live interviews. Can you please tell us why and if anything could make you change your mind?
- We just want to keep a low-profile attitude. This is better to speak and sound through your music and lyrics. All the band members are really experienced in big and important live shows. We have all played in huge lives and festivals in Greece and abroad with our bands FRAGILE VASTNESS, SORROWFUL ANGELS and SORROWS PATH. If you want it, live performances are very nice and enjoyable, just apart from the big bands which have some profits, the rest pay a lot of money and basically support airlines, people in the music industry and other situations. I would recommend it to upcoming bands, only some good lives that would be a good promotion for your music!

So, are you working on some new music or what plans do you have for the future of the band?
- There will be a lot of promotion about the new album. Hopefully, many metalheads will accept and love the new band. The signs are already more than encouraging and they seem to enjoy as much as we did when we recorded this album! Otherwise, the band is here to stay and after getting rid of various musical differences, the goal is consistent and quality releases.

Anything that you would like to add?
- Thank you very much for the big honour of this interview on your established webzine! Stay true to yourself and your people.
